Plant and Sip: Garden-to-Glass - Secrets of the Home Grown Artisanal Cocktail Workshop & Social Hour

  • The Cook's Garden 1033 Abbot Kinney Venice United States (map)

A garden adventure in planting a cocktail garden and creating hand-crafted, produce-driven summer cocktails.

Join us for an extraordinary experience exploring the Garden-to-Glass movement in the midst of our beautiful urban farm in Venice. Guided by our experts, you’ll experience how to plan and plant a cocktail garden at home and the creation of produce-driven cocktails you’ll enjoy while savoring a delicious charcuterie and cheese platter (vegan options too). You’ll take home a syllabus complete with garden design “how-to’s” and recipes to bring your garden cocktails to life at home!

This is actually two workshops in one!!

No experience needed, all curious humans welcomed as our fearless leader, master gardener, culinary grower and owner of The Cook’s Garden, Geri Miller, guides you through selecting and planting botanicals from our nursery to create your own mini cocktail garden in a window box to take home. Our guest instructor, Mixologist, Andrew Oliveri, of Generous Pour Bartenders will get your creative juices flowing by demonstrating how to use garden-fresh ingredients to make garden-to-glass cocktails at home.

You will embrace the magic of this workshop - botanicals in one hand, a cocktail in the other - as we take you on a unique journey that will fill your soul and feed all your senses!

PLEASE READ: Adults only (21 and over). Fully vaccinated guests only (record checked on entry).

Meet the Instructors

Geri Galian Miller

“Whoever creates a garden, creates happiness,” has defined Geri Miller’s life, beginning when she discovered her love and talent for gardening as a child to her trailblazing efforts in introducing eco-friendly, research-based edible gardens and landscapes to public schools, hospitality companies including resorts, restaurants, galleries and spas as well as private residences in the greater Los Angeles area, Malibu and the South Bay for over a decade. As the founder of Home Grown Edible Landscapes and The Cook’s Garden, her focus includes teaching, consulting, designing and overseeing the execution of edible landscaping and food production gardens for her clients and community. Working to strengthen communities, much of her work over the years has been pro bono to educators and non-profits focusing on children.

Andrew Oliveri

Andrew’s cocktails are heavily influenced by the wide variety of hyper-fresh, hyper-local, seasonal organic fruits and herbs sold at our Los Angeles Farmers markets. His is a culinary approach to bartending. Classic cocktails are reimagined and beautifully presented by pairing them with fresh fruits and herbs - a produce-driven approach which reflects the Californian palate.

You can find him behind the bar at Only the Wild Ones and Roosterfish on Abbot Kinney. Visit his website at generouspourbartenders.com

NOTE: Registration will close 3 days prior to event (July 20) to finalize catering/beverage service. You may contact us to be placed on our wait list.
